Dial-A-Dad is the brainchild of Gavin Hickmott, 35, who started the company in Colchester, Essex during April 2000. Fed up with lining other employers’ pockets and working on building sites, Gavin knew there was a big gap in the market for property maintenance for private residence.

The name Dial-A-Dad derived from the endless amount of times that Gavin phoned his DAD to ask for help on building projects; hence DIAL-A-DAD.
The company is now run by Gavin and his DAD Harold, 59, of West Mersea who joined the company in March 2001.

The father and son maintenance team work with other independent maintenance contractors who work in and around the COLCHESTER area, to ensure that every area of property maintenance is covered.

Collectively, the two of them have in excess of 55 years experience in the building trade, covering all aspects of property maintenance. If you have a “to do” list or have a number of incomplete projects, we would be delighted to help.
